Bio
I’m an acoustic guitarist and composer focused on lyrical solo instrumentals shaped by improvisation. My music explores melodic storytelling, harmonic atmosphere, and gentle rhythmic motion, often balancing reflective passages with moments of quiet forward energy.
Many pieces begin as spontaneous ideas discovered while playing. Rather than building compositions from technical patterns or arrangements, I try to follow what I hear internally and allow the music to unfold naturally.
Influences and Approach
My approach has been shaped by melodic acoustic composers in the Windham Hill and modern fingerstyle traditions, along with an ear-first improvisational philosophy developed through my studies with David Reed and the Improvise For Real method.
Earlier experience performing jazz, classical, and popular styles continues to influence my harmonic language and sense of musical space. I also studied classical guitar for several years, which helped deepen my awareness of phrasing, voice leading, and tone.
Performance and Recording
I record each piece live in a single take, without overdubbing or digital correction. This preserves the energy, imperfection, and immediacy of real performance.
My goal is not studio polish, but presence — the feeling of sitting in the room while the music is being played.
Artistic Approach
I’m interested in music that feels discovered rather than constructed — pieces that move like quiet journeys rather than performances. Improvisation often provides the starting point, allowing melody and harmony to emerge intuitively.
The aim is clarity, resonance, and emotional space rather than virtuosity or spectacle.
